By using a new robot system in conjunction with the ALLMATIC RoboBuddy, Rudolf Storz was able to automate two existing machines, significantly reduce through put times and increase the capacity of each machine. \u2018The existing automation was simply no longer up to date,\u2019 explains Andreas Lang, responsible for CNC production at Rudolf Storz. \u2018The technology was getting on in years and simply no longer met our current requirements \u2013 production is constantly evolving, so the systems have to keep up.\u2019<br \/>As part of its modernisation plans, Rudolf Storz decided not only to replace the existing automation solution, but also to upgrade a second existing machine with the same technology. The goal: to produce the wide range of workpieces as efficiently and flexibly as possible \u2013 with minimal personnel costs and without investing in new machines or additional clamping devices.<br \/>Since the implementation of the new automation solution, production has been running continuously \u2013 without additional personnel costs. During the unmanned night shift, the robot system takes over all handling tasks, while the RoboBuddy operates the clamping devices. The entire process is fully automated and highly reliable.<br \/>\u2018The workplace is not being replaced but relocated. While the machine is running, the employee can continue working on another machine \u2013 this increases efficiency and organisation throughout the entire team,\u2019 emphasises Lang. A clear sign that automation does not threaten jobs.<br \/>In addition, automation creates the basis for economically managing the increasing order intake and growing variety of parts. At the same time, qualified employees are relieved of some of their workload and can apply their expertise where it delivers the greatest added value.<br \/>\u2018Automation not only helps us to manufacture more efficiently \u2013 it also supports our growth.
